The 5 Love Languages’ London Takeover

Gary Chapman draws capacity crowds across one of world’s leading cities

In May of 2023, bestselling Moody Publishers author Dr. Gary Chapman brought his biblically based 5 Love Languages and 5 Apology Languages messages to London for a week of speaking engagements and media interviews, attracting capacity crowds at 15 churches across one of the world’s largest cities.

More than 20,000 people attended or viewed Dr. Chapman’s message on “The Keys to Building Lasting Healthy Relationships,” and overflow audiences heard him speak at Hillsong UK (10 congregations), Holy Trinity Brompton, Kensington Temple, KICC (multiple campuses), and City Gates London.

Dr. Chapman also conducted TV, radio, podcast, and print interviews with a range of ministries, including TBN UK, God TV, Revelation TV, Premier Christian Media, UCB Radio, Heart Publications, Christian Creative Directory, and Women Alive. Collectively, these outlets connect with more than three million active viewers and listeners and feature a total reach of nearly 10 million Britons.

Thousands of Dr. Chapman’s widely popular books were also distributed in a post-Christian country hungry for biblical truth.

One speaking event particularly stood out during the tour. Dr. Chapman was scheduled to take the stage at Holy Trinity Brompton at 7:30 p.m. when Pastor Dave Matthews announced that the start time would need to be pushed back to 7:45 because “the line of people waiting to get in was still stretching around the building and all the way down the drive to the next block.”

When one spectator asked Dr. Chapman to share the secret to his success and message, his reply revealed the true motivation for his writing: “
